Georgie de Mattos, ASW

One of the greatest skills we can cultivate is to practice allowing uncomfortable thoughts and feelings while not letting them take the wheel. Working with people on their reproductive mental health, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and those facing discrimination or social injustices, I draw on modalities such as acceptance commitment therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. Creating a safe space to unpack how one’s identities, values, and lived human experiences intersect to form a sense of self, I help my clients recognize when they are straying from their core values or are telling themselves self-defeating stories so they can realign with what they truly believe in and reclaim how they move about the world. Outside of session, I can likely be found staring lovingly at my cat, dancing to some funk music, or trying to learn Italian on Duolingo.
